The Academic Edition of Catalyst Manufacturing® is offered to qualified educational users for use in a classroom or educational setting. Catalyst Manufacturing includes much of the same functionality found in higher-end MRP II / ERP systems, but since it is packaged as a desktop solution for small manufacturers, it is much easier to use and has a lower total cost of ownership. Catalyst offers university-level instructors a unique opportunity to bring MRP II / ERP functionality into the classroom to explore and study at a detail level.

The Academic Edition is essentially the Basic version licensed by server without a client seat limitation. The licensing allows instructors to use the software as a teaching tool over successive semesters with each student participating with their own database copy.
